Air gaging is a precise non-contact means of precise comparative dimensional measurement that offers the advantages of improved workflow, increased productivity, and decreased downtime. It is ideal for measuring dimensions with tolerances less than 0.005”, and a resolution of 0.000002” can be achieved. Its non-contact characteristics make air gaging particularly useful for soft, highly polished, thin-walled, or other delicate materials. Edmunds supplies a full line of air gaging for applications as diverse as inside and outside diameters, averaging, roundness, straightness, squareness, taper, flatness, groove width, and matching.
Cylindrical gages simply have to be perfect to measure accurately. Although many view cylindrical gages as commodity items there are differences in how they are made which can affect their stability and reliability. Edmunds cylindrical gages feature an exclusive double temperature stabilization process, and are 100% inspected under strict laboratory controls to assure optimum measurement accuracy. Further, Edmunds cylindrical gages can be certified and be directly traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Edmunds offers inch or metric plain ring gages in steel, chrome or tungsten carbide. Their master setting discs are available in three styles, and their plug gages may be specified as reversible, taper lock, tri-lock or progressive. All Edmunds cylindrical gages are available in classes Z, Y, X, XX, XXX.
Twin-head gage block comparators and universal internal/external comparators are a vital part of the Edmunds Gages product line. Edmunds comparators are considered the "lab standard" by the top metrology laboratories in the world. Edmunds comparators provide easy to read digital displays with calibration mode and auto zero function for instant reference setting without any mechanical or electrical adjustment.
